Video of the Week: Galveston Oil Spill Closes Shipping Channel

Earlier this week, an oil barge collided with another vessel in a shipping channel between Galveston and Houston, Texas. The barge leaked as much as about a fifth of its cargo into the Houston Ship Channel, one of the world's busiest waterways for moving petrochemicals. There were concerns that extended closure of the channel would disrupt oil and petrochemical movements and impact prices. The closure itself did not last more than a few days, but the long-term environmental impacts are unclear.
